Year 2; students writing and thinking

We grabbed the riwai out of our garden. Arlo

We harvseted the riwai form our mara kai. When we were done harvesting the riwai we washed them and then we put them into bowls. We peeled the riwai with our fingers because they were fresh from our garden.  Faith and Chevy

Year 3; students writing and thinking

Room 25 planted riwai in term 2. We harvested our riwai because we wanted to see how many riwai had grown and compare the sizes. We found giant, medium and small riwai.
We rinsed and washed the riwai then the children started peeling the riwai with their fingers. Fresh riwai are easy to peel. After peeling the riwai whaea Bella cooked and mashed the riwai for us to make a sausage burger but first whaea Carolyn had to cook the sausages.

We placed a sausage on a buttered bread and topped it with mashed riwai and cheese.
What a day! Fresh riwai on a sausage. Kinoa
